EARLY IN-PERSON VOTING · OCTOBER 6–31
Start at the McKinley County Clerk’s Office.
When
Monday–Friday: 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
Beginning Tuesday, October 6.
Closed October 12 for Indigenous Peoples’ Day.
Final Saturday, October 31: 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
All hours are Mountain Time.
Expanded early voting begins October 17. Alternate sites have different schedules. Check the county’s location list before heading out.

Vote by mail
Every registered McKinley County voter may request an absentee ballot. No excuse is required.
- Check or update your registration.
- Request an absentee ballot by October 20, 2026, online or through the county clerk. Ballots begin mailing October 6.
- Return it by mail, at the county clerk’s office, at a polling place in your county, or at an authorized drop box.
- Check your absentee application and ballot status through NMVote, or contact the county clerk.
Request and return your ballot early if you plan to use the mail. Your completed ballot must be received by 7:00 PM Mountain Time on November 3, 2026.

You can still register and vote in person.
Eligible New Mexico voters can register or update their registration immediately before voting during early voting and on Election Day. Same-day registration is available at the county clerk’s office, participating early-voting locations, and any polling location in your county on Election Day.
Check with the clerk for participating early-voting sites and bring the identification and any address documentation required by the Secretary of State. Same-day registration is for voting in person; it cannot be used to register and vote by mail.
