From the first call to the MCSO response

The bus driver called 911 three times. The CAD records disconnections, reconnections, and a change of phone. Gallup Police responded before MCSO; the later wait for the Sheriff’s Office must not be described as a period with no police present.

Who the unit numbers identify

The CAD’s own unit table identifies 32 as Benally, 49 as Bittony, 606 as Keah-Tigh, and 656 as Bowman. Read the unit table on page 5.

Two intervals, with their endpoints

1 hour, 17 minutes, 51 seconds separates call creation at 05:36:22 from the narrative entry placing Unit 49 at the bus at 06:54:13. 34 minutes, 56 seconds separates Unit 49’s dispatch-status entry at 06:19:21 from its arrival-status entry at 06:54:17.

These are calculated intervals between the specified CAD entries. Bittony’s report separately says he was dispatched at about 06:44 and arrived at about 06:54. The earlier 06:19 CAD entries remain part of the record; these sources do not explain the difference. Compare report page 2.

Times are reproduced as displayed in the CAD. The three caller-side segments in the dispatch index start at 05:36:16, 05:41:26, and 05:42:33; audio-file elapsed time is a different clock. Open the dispatch recording index. Contact and system identifiers are removed from this public copy.
